Round and Round It Goes

54" diameter

Quilting gives voice to the fullness of my thoughts. It allows me to tell a large story. Round and Round It Goes was  quilted on a found tablecloth. The piece includes both hand and machine stitching. The scalloped edged cloth is a study of threats to the world; among them are: overpopulation, war, patriotism, economic collapse, pollution, gas fracking, earthquakes, oil spills, radiation leaks, endangered species, ocean acidification, and terrorism.

I want to tell the story of the earth: the way we live on it, treat it, and use it up. It disturbs me.

This quilt won the Award of Excellence at Quilt National 2013 and FiberArt Now's Excellence in Fibers 2016 Best of Show.
