Ever get that feeling in the pit of your stomach?

You know that feeling. The one that comes with worry. and anxiety. That's what inspired the work on this quilt. It's a simple black and white image with worry lines traversing the surface. Should I do this? or should I do that? Do I go here? or do I go there? Did I pay all the bills on time? Why am I forgetting things? How am I going to fit one more task into my day? Is that bulge over my beltline growing? ad nauseum.......

Sometimes they feel like big black boulders within. Erupting, surfacing, juggling my head.

It helps to stitch them out.

one line doodles

Here is a sample of my new direction in quilting. Most quilters use a continuous line to quilt their work. I was doing just the opposite in my quilts so I thought I might try a stream of consciousness meander that explores line in a conventional yet different way. Not sure what the consciousness is here. I might have to refine my thoughts prior to stitching next time. Or not.

a whole week to quilt

A luxury of time and space with no equal. time to finish those pieces in progress, space to create new ones. Here is "AHA! moments"  A piece about to be proclaimed finished...it includes a print of one of my drawings on a piece of organic cotton canvas that measures 53" x 56".
