I just love how my quilts crinkle up in the wash. The texture is always a surprise and it completely transforms a flat surface to one that is alive with texture. I admit, sometimes it is like Russian roulette and I have to delegate the piece to the pile for pillow forms and dog beds. But when it works it is such a joy.
Here is a detail of the piece I have been working on called Strangers Among Us, post crinkle. Almost done with this one.

Recently spent a little time at Heron Pond in Illinois. One of my fave places to wander. Learned about gabion baskets and castor mounds.

Poked at, primped, previewed and published, our Parallel Lives book makes its public debut on Blurb.com. It is a short story of the collaboration that Jean Holmgren and I have had for the past two years. This unique opportunity to create art together helped each of us to define our own paths. Any profits from the sale of the book will be used to support women in the arts.
